Wolverton Mountain Gun Club
Located under majestic Mount St. Helens, Wolverton Mountain Gun Club (WMGC) is a non-profit, member-owned, private gun club in Ariel, Washington. WMGC offers the following range options:
TRAP RANGE BAY with 6 shooting posts for shotgun use, a fixed position clay target launcher, and a larger multi angle clay target launcher for organized events. (Shot size 7.5 or 8 only, maximum velocity 1200 FPS. This is the only shooting bay where flying targets may be used.)
ARCHERY RANGE AREA with 6 varying length shooting lanes and provided targets.
150 YARD RIFLE RANGE BAY with 14 covered shooting positions. Targets may be set from 50 yards to 150 yards away from the shooting line. This range should normally only be used for rifles, scoped handguns, and shotguns using slugs.
50 YARD RANGE BAY with 10 covered shooting positions (Rifle/Handgun). Targets may be set from 25 yards to 50 yards away from the shooting line. Shotguns with Slugs or Buckshot may be used.
PISTOL RANGE BAY (25/15 yard backstops) with 10 covered shooting positions (Rifle/Handgun). Targets may be set from 10 yards to 25 yards away from the shooting line. This bay can be used for patterning shotguns, along with slugs or buckshot.
The 150 yd. 50 yd, and 25 yd bays all have berms capable of stopping all common intermediate and full-sized rifle rounds such as .223 and .308. For Magnum rifles or .50 BMG, use the 150 yard Rifle Range Bay.
Shooters may shoot from covered benched positions on the firearm bays using standard shooting procedures or they may use the special downrange shooting procedures to shoot at varying distances with targets posted directly at the berm.
